All proceeds from the Top Gun Ride for Children benefit The Center and the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation
About the Center for Children and Young Adults
The Center is a nonprofit organization that operates two long-term, residential facilities for abused,
abandoned, and neglected children and youth -- Open Gate and Another Chance. Open Gate cares for up to nine
boys and girls between the ages of birth to 12 while Another Chance serves up to 24 adolescents ages 13 to 17.
The agency also operates a transitional living program, Turning Point which provides residential, educational
and vocational training for young adults between the ages of 17 and 21. Each child at The Center is placed there
because no one else can or will care for them. In 2007 The Center served more than 200 children, youth and young
adults from Metro-Atlanta and 20 surrounding counties. The Center receives a per diem by the state for each child
served. Unfortunately, the cost of care per day per child exceeds the per diem by $100. The Center relies on special
fundraisers such as the Top Gun Ride for Children to bridge the gap in funding.

About the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation
Established in 1994, the Foundation's sole purpose is to provide emergency relief assistance to the members
and families of the Georgia National Guard, our State's reservists and qualified active duty service members
that live in the State of Georgia. The Foundation, although not a military organization, is recognized as an
official support organization of the Georgia National Guard.
